Poem - Oh,Boko Haram

Posted by Ike Boat on January 30, 2015 at 12:50 PM Comments comments (0)

The background to the following piece of poem is a total concern surrounding the issue of such terrorist group in Nigeria and other part of Africa. It's to raise our voice in all possible means or medium, thus this poem is one.

Oh,Boko Haram <--- Title Of Poem (TOP)

Oh,Boko Haram

For how long are you stopping the brutality ?

Which has given sleepless nights resulting in insomnia

Of some hard-working people of Nigeria

It's amazing the mass murder and bomb-blast destruction

What at all,is the cause of your infuriation ?

Or is that some sort of religious mentality

To the true Moslem, your act isn't about Islam

So,what's the motive behind your killings of terrorism

In fact,it doesn't bring any joy nor enthusiasm.

Oh,Boko Haram

Why the school children you captured ?

Don't you know they're Africa's leaders tomorrow

And can even have riches you can borrow

Who knows their talents to serve the continent

Thus, when some don't feel being content

I've heard your bloody hands have made some tortured

Which is so cruel not to compare in times of Abraham

Hopefully, you're not planning to overthrow the government

Because,it'll rather retard your development.

Poem - The Morning Dew

Posted by Ike Boat on May 1, 2014 at 3:05 PM Comments comments (0)

below is one of my written poems entitled 'The Morning Dew' which was written in Kumasi,Ghana. Thus, whilst lodging at the 'Cold-Sweat' Lodge in October,2013.

The Morning Dew

In the room, when the lauvres are opened,

I can feel its chills.

Even amidst the meditation.

It's not too cold so i didn't take pills.

The morning dew.

On the balcony, the sounds of birds are heard.

I can see,close-by roofs and cars are wet.

How about the places of high concentration.

Maybe,not conducive for the jet.

The morning dew.

At the far away distance nothing is seen.

I can tune into the radio.

For good music in terms of devotion.

The still-small voice gives inner audio.

The morning dew.

Poem - It's May Day

Posted by Ike Boat on May 1, 2014 at 2:10 PM Comments comments (0)

The following is centered on the yearly celebration of special rest-day for workers across the regions of Ghana. It's known as 'May Day' as some in other part of the world refer to it as 'Labour's Day'.Kindly, enjoy it and feel free to share with friends and family.

It's May Day

It's May day,

An annual holiday for workers.

It's look like, meant for the public sectors.

Although most are not rockers.

But one can see various directors.

At the venues of their events,

Where placards make concern expressions.

About certain economic needs of the moments.

Which indeed can bring progressions.

As they seek to move the State forward.

It's May day,

Elsewhere labour-day is the title.

Because of its prime participants,

From all walks of life,be it small or little.

Perhaps,for all hard-working celebrants.

Most government officials gather at a place.

So as to discuss about nation-hood.

A means to strategize and set the pace,

For all folks and satisfy their mood.

Always the better ones are ready for reward.

Poem - Love Is Attraction

Love Is Attraction

Love is attraction,

Between the two-human.

That's why one's female called woman.

And the other male is called man.

The care and compassion is about affection.

Love is attraction,

Which involves total commitment.

And not like one's commandment.

But with understandable agreement.

So as to ensure sweet adoration.

Love is attraction,

Of the soul,spirit,mind,body and heart.

That's why married couples can't be set apart.

Those deeply in it,walk together to the mart.

When partners fall in it breeze, there's admiration.

Love is attraction,

With some aspect of it's like magnet.

So,people cope with its positive and negative set.

Those who're not sure, can't tell it yet.

Although,there's a kind of infatuation.

The Award Nomination <--- Title Of Poem (TOP)

15th March,2014 - the memorable date.

Well,i should have been to the 'Thinking Conference'.

But whilst spending a bit of time online,i became late.

However,it's a day of the difference.

By virtue of what became a good news.

I had nothing to lose,so grasp the attention.

The award nomination.

In fact, the first chat-line states "I want to nominate",

You for the 'International Poet of the Year'.

That's from the Don of Poetry in the Lafayette estate.

It's like a danceable sound of music to hear.

An incredible idea which needs no reviews.

Not so long,i noticed it's for the entire US nation.

The award nomination.

Being in a category which require public votes and not fate.

Therefore,i request from you reader to make yours count.

So as to make it to the top in the immediate.

It is possible because the number makes the amount.

Maybe there would be initial previews.

Beloved reader, let's win together for this poetic institution.

The award nomination.

Poem - Some Ghanaian Rhyme Names

Posted by Ike Boat on March 20, 2014 at 3:45 PM Comments comments (0)

Some Ghanaian Rhyme Names

Let's start with Sunday,so female will be called Esi.

And the masculine being opposite, will be describe as Kwesi.

Let's address the Monday-born,she'll be known as Adjo.

While the male counterpart is called Joojo or Kojo.

Let's take to the Tuesday fellow, who'll be called Abena.

Then the boy to share with will either be Kobina or Kwabena.

Let's make it to the Mid-week,so we have Aku.

For which the Akan tribe will rather address the male Kuuku or Kwaku.

Let's bring to the fore Thursday girl,as she'll be named Yawa.

So the male boy will be given the name Yaw.

Let's take our turn to Friday born female, thus the Ewes we'll have Afi.

For which to the Fante clan,he'll be called Fiifi,Yoofi or Kofi.

Let's finish the first names with Saturday,so female is Amina.

While the male fellow will be called Kwamina.

It's time to embark on the surname journey,so on the road-side is Amakye.

But the following can't be left out,due to their rhythmic rhyme sound Korankye,Boakye and Kwakye.

It's obvious how sport, music and politics makes this name popular,Boateng.

However, without being bias there's also Adonteng,Oteng and Amoateng.

It's good not to forget, because I've known someone who's called Frimpong.

And on the field of Arts,I've heard about Kwapong,Sarpong,Acheampong and Ampong.

It's a bit spirit-related because there's a fetish priest known as 'Okomfo' Damoah.

Who's able to charm and influence people but not the likes of Asamoah,Somoah and Amoah.

It's better to have known a family man called mister Kabutey.

Well,if one take a trip to the capital Accra, you often hear Nettey,Quartey,Ayitey and Adjetey.

It's can no more be a secret if i now unfold to you my other home name is Amissah.

Which also share rhythmic rhyme scheme with Amponsah,Quansah,Ansah and Mensah.

Let's take a final hike to an area, suburb as well name called Amanful.

Where some of the folks are known as Arhinful,Ntsiful and Afful.

Poem : Valentine Is Here

Valentine Is Here

It's yet another day of commemoration.

Thus,to think about it's celebration.

As both sexes become so passionate.

Some have no partners but still participate.

Valentine is here.

As many recognize the popularity of colour red.

With diverse clothes and decors it's show.

It's occasion, some ensure others are fed.

To bring about the care others ought to know.

Valentine is here.

In fact,on-line and on-air its promos are more.

That's when deep lovers come to the fore.

So as to tell their love in a story.

Like Romeo and Juliet in history.

Valentine is here.

Poem ---> The Morning Mind : TMM

Posted by Ike Boat on December 5, 2013 at 2:35 PM Comments comments (0)

PT : The Morning Mind

Imagine,when you wake up.

That early hours of the day.

When you sit alone and ponder.

Some times about what to eat.

Even if there's no one to make request known.

Yet you can pray and expect a change.

The morning mind.

Some smile and rejoice because there's a soup.

So they have certain things to say.

For which others stand and wonder.

To the mad-man his ways are not neat.

The rich buy cars and houses to make it their own.

However,to the poor there's no menu-range.

The morning mind.

I remember,when calling Pup.

It's a wishful thinking to utter nay.

Because, there's nothing to take a yonder.

To the ordinary man,the mind is like a beat.

Which is not often shown.

Although,there's a name called Plange.

The morning mind.

Poem - The Game Of Passion

The Game Of Passion

Even before the match commence,

Many are the exercises on the training pitch.

To prevent the ball from going afar, there's fence.

Better fields have no ditch.

It's often played eleven players aside.

Which brings fluidity of diverse skills.

Some tackles come a slide.

When there's body pains,some take-in pills.

Good passes,require proper precision.

The game of passion.

Prior to the real match-day.there are interviews.

It's obvious,some consult the coaches.

So as to have their views.

Base on the significance of the matches.

No-one knows what's in the mind of a referee.

That's why some play with intense vigour.

In the midst of whistle, some disagree.

The pressure on the field, demand good behaviour.

Some wonder when there's a decision.

The game of passion.

Often, crucial matches are played at a bigger stadium.

Due to higher number of spectators.

The seats are higher like a speaker on the podium.

It's also watched by some famous actors.

When a goal is scored, there's excitement.

But,the run to and fro requires much energy.

However,the injured player needs ointment.

Moreover,a spoiled chance demands apology.

Guess what,diverse shouts evaporate tension.

The game of passion
